Austin Square and Round Dance Association

Shirts'n'Skirts will offer lessons beginning Wednesday, February 17. The one hour lessons will start at 7:00 PM, prior to our regular dance at McCoy School.. The first two lessons will be free. If you know of someone who might be interested in learning to square dance, please let us know.

We will begin mainstream lessons on Monday, Feb 1 at 7:00. See the attached newsletter for additional information.

Waterloo Squares is offering fun, fellowship and exercise in the form of square dance lessons. Come join us for the Spring 2010 session which will begin on Thursday, March 4. For Mainstream (beginner level), we start at 7:30 p.m.; the first two lessons are complimentary. Plus lessons (starting at 9:00 p.m.) are for experienced Mainstream dancers regardless of club affiliation. The classes run for approximately 20 weeks and are held at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1314 E Oltorf St (near IH35). Our Caller/Instructor is Wayne Weston from Canyon Lake.

Let's have fun, meet new friends, get healthy exercise and enjoy an evening out.  Free introductory lessons September 21st and 28th, 2009 from 7pm to 8:30pm. Hyde Park Christian Church, 610 East 45th street in Austin; casual dress; no partner needed.

The Swinging Lakers club is having an Open House September 16th and 23rd at 7:00 pm for an Introduction to Square Dancing.  Join the fun at the Lago Vista K-Oaks Clubhouse.  Casual dress.  Our instructor/caller is Gary Bible, a professional caller with 28 years experience calling and teaching square dancing.  Call Larry or Louise Drake at 512-267-2341 for more information.

Couch Potatoes, Exercise Enthusiasts, and Aspiring Dancers: Have you ever thought about taking square dance lessons? The Wheel-N-Deals will be offering lessons starting September 3rd from 7pm to 8:30pm at the Dunbar Center, 801 MLK in San Marcos.

Allie Hays' friends had a good laugh when they heard about the class she had signed up for at North Central College in Naperville: Mathematics of Square Dancing.

Hays thought it was pretty funny herself at first.

"I said, 'Are you kidding me? That's a reach,'" said the senior math major.
