ASRDA's Mid-Tex Festival for 2009 - "The Best Little Barn Dance in Texas!"

Wear some gingham at this Mid-Tex Festival!   The dates are Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd, 2009, the place is Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church in Austin, and the theme is "The Best Little Barn Dance In Texas".   And yes, there will be hay and barn animals on hand.  (Ok, just kidding about the animals.)

On Friday evening Round Dancers should come early for the Pre-Rounds at 7:00 pm with cueing by Martha Kozlovsky and Lucy & Jerry Pate.  At 7:30 Square Dancing begins and some of our local callers will be on hand: Gary Bible, Brad Caldwell, Al Frazier, Jim Hayes, Jimmy Johnson, and Ed Larder.  After 7:30, it'll be Mainstream/Plus and Round Dancing until 10:00 pm.  Thanks to all our Friday cuers and callers for donating their time and talent!

On Saturday afternoon there will be a full 2 hours of Round Dance Workshop provided by cuers Kay and Joy Read starting at 12:30 pm.  Then at 3:00 Mike Bramlett will call a 2-hour square dance.  (Dress is casual for the afternoon sessions.)  The evening schedule starts with Pre-Rounds at 7:00 cued by Kay and Joy.  Our Grand March will be at 7:45, followed by Mike Bramlett calling.  The evening continues until 10:00 pm with Dancing 2+2.  There will also be a special Round Dancing exhibition by Jay and Joy in place of one of the Round Dance sessions.

Take a flyer for directions and mark your calendar for May 1st & 2nd.  We promise you'll be glad you did!
