Help celebrate the graduation of 19 new dancers into our world of square dancing. Jerry Lynn is M/C with guest caller, Brad Caldwell. The dance is Friday, June 5th from 7:30PM until 9:30PM in the Killeen Community Center on the Corner of W. S. Young and Business 190. A $2 donation is suggested.
"Dancing Deep in the Heart of Texas---Waco 2009" is around the corner. The 47th Annual Texas State Federation of Square and Round Dancers Festival will be June 11, 12, 13, and 14 at the Waco Convention Center in Waco. Activities begin Thursday evening with the Trail End Dance and after-party hosted by the Texas Callers Association. The callers will have us all "Floating Down the Brazos" and enjoying the "River Race".

Friday night is when everyone will wear their Waco Festival bandana attire. Dan and Kathy Amburn, President(s) of Texas State Federation of Square and Round Dancers, have passed out over 1500 bandanas across this great state of ours and have seen many creative outfits.

Join us for the ASRDA 2009-2010 Installation, Bar-B-Que & Dance. The 5:30-6:30pm Bar-B-Que dinner (brisket, pork loin, & sausage from Smokey Mo's) is $7.50 per person. Seventy-two people made reservations for dinner and this number was turned in to Smotokey Mo's on Tuesday, July 7th, 2009. The requested donation for the dance is $5 per person. After dinner, installation of the officers will be from 6:30 to 7pm. Then there is Pre-rounds from 7 to 7:30pm followed by the 7:30-9pm dance.
Waterloos graduate the 16th class taught by Gary Bible, who is "retiring" from the "two-classes-a-year" schedule - but not retiring from calling! Thank you, Gary - we'll miss you at lessons!

The Fall 2009 Waterloo Lessons program will begin on Thursday, September 10. Classes run for approximately 20 weeks and are held at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1314 E Oltorf St (near IH35). The Caller/Instructor will be Wayne Weston from Canyon Lake. Waterloo Beginner (Mainstream) lessons are for new dancers and Plus level lessons are for experienced Mainstream dancers regardless of current club affiliation!

Dance with us this Christmas season and donate gifts to children in need (form infants to teens). Please join us at Hyde Park Christian Church, 610 East 45th Street, Austin, Texas. This is a benefit dance to donate toys and money to the Austin Blue Santa Christmas Toy Drive. Admission is one unwrapped toy per dancer. We will have a donation jar if you prefer to donate money for the cause. Toys for older teenagers and young infants are especially in need. Anything will be graciously accepted.
It's time for Waterloo's Annual Nutcracker Dance and Christkindlemarket (the 2nd) - there will be holiday crafts and homemade baked goods for sale. Gary Bible will be getting us in the Christmas spirit again this year.

The Lambdas are kicking off their winter mainstream class with a free open house for new and returning dancers. Please encourage friends who want to complete or review the mainstream program before Mid-Tex to come and check us out!
The class will be a fast-track, seven-session schedule that ends on March 15. Cost for the program is $35.
The Apache Raindancers have invited the Mid-Tex Stars to dance with us on February 15th (this coming Monday) at Hyde Park Christian Church at at 610 E. 45th.

THE TEXAS BLUEBONNETS LUAU DINNER HAS BEEN CANCELLED
We WILL have our Luau Dance as planned on August 27th from 7:30 - 10:00 for a donation fee of $6.00. Mainstream and plus square dancing with Jimmy Johnson calling. Line dancing tips will keep us warmed up. Cool Hawaiian refreshments along with decadent snacks will keep the energy level up. Texas Bluebonnets are going to host the Fall Harvest Dance on our regular Tuesday evening of November 15th. This dance will be a charity event for the Capital Area Food Drive. We ask the dancers attending bring non-perishable food items as their donation for attending this dance. We dance from 7:30 to 9:30 P.M. Jimmy Johnson will be our caller and we will have fall harvest treats for all to enjoy. We hope all of you will be able to attend this special dance and help us donate to our community. This is an annual round dance festival held in Shreeveport, LA that is a favorite of many Austin area round dancers.
Round dances are held Friday and Saturday (with pre-rounds!) nights and round dance workshops are held Saturday morning and afternoon.
The featured instructors are Mark and Pam Prow from Seabrook, TX. Many other cuers will also participate, including Lucy (& Jerry) Pate.
Ruffles and Leather Dance Attire and Permanent Impressions photographers will also be there.
